Go_A is a Ukrainian folktronica band. They would have represented Ukraine at ESC 2020 in Rotterdam with the song Solowej. However, the competition was cancelled because of COVID-19. The band will represent Ukraine at ESC 2021 instead. The group was founded in 2012 by Taras Shevchenko. The members are from different regions of Ukraine. The first song of the group Kolyada was released in December 2012. After the group successfully qualified for the final on February 8, 2020, Go_A won the final of Widbir on February 22, 2020. #eurovision #go #a #ukraine #song #contest #2021 #widbir

Solowej (Ukrainian Соловей, German Nachtigall) is a Ukrainian-language pop song written by Taras Shevchenko and Kateryna Pavlenko and performed by the Ukrainian band Go_A. The title won the Widbir 2020 and thus should represent Ukraine at the ESC 2020 in Rotterdam. The title is written entirely in Ukrainian. The content is about a woman who falls in love and is no longer taken seriously. However, she is strong enough to turn the tables and cope with the situation with dignity. #solowej #ukraine #esc #2021 #go #a #widbir

After the Netherlands won the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest and the 2020 event in Rotterdam was cancelled due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the Eurovision Song Contest is now scheduled to take place there in 2021.
