Songs and artists

On March 20, 2020, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) announced that the ESC reference group had decided, in accordance with the rules in force, that the songs originally selected for 2020 would not be allowed to be resubmitted for 2021. It was up to the broadcasters of the participating countries to decide whether the same or a different artist would be selected for ESC 2021. #eurovision #song #contest #singer #songs #2021 #esc #netherlands

Four scenarios for the ESC 2021

On September 18, 2020, the EBU published four scenarios of how the 2021 contest could definitely take place. Each scenario was explained in more detail by the organizers. Scenario A was rejected by the EBU on February 3, 2021 - the EBU will now focus on Scenario B, but a final decision on which of the three remaining scenarios will be carried out is still pending. #eurovision #song #contest #2021 #scenario #esc #ebu #netherlands #rotterdam

Scenario B: A competition with social distancing

Under Scenario B, the competition would also be held with nine shows, but all people would have to be 1.5 meters apart. Only delegation teams would travel to the competition itself and the number of fans, press and delegation members would be reduced. If delegations are unable to travel to Rotterdam, pre-recorded videos of live performances by the artists would be used for the shows. The artists who can travel to Rotterdam will perform live during the show. #eurovision #song #contest #2021 #social #distancing #scenario
