Samira Efendi, auch: Efendi, (eigentlich: Samira Efendiyeva; * 17. April 1991 in Baku) ist eine aserbaidschanische Sängerin. Sie wird ihr Land beim ESC 2021 vertreten. 2009 nahm Efendi erstmals am Gesangswettbewerb Yeni Ulduz 09 teil. Bei der aserbaidschanischen Version von The Voice, Səs Azərbaycan, nahm sie in der Staffel 2015/16 den dritten Platz im Finale ein. Außerdem vertrat sie Aserbaidschan 2019 beim Gesangsfestival Voice of Nur-Sultan in Kasachstan. 2020 setzte sie sich gegen vier Mitbewerber durch und wurde ausgewählt, Aserbaidschan beim ESC 2020 zu vertreten. #esc #samira #efendi

Mata Hari ist ein englischsprachiger Popsong. Mit dem Titel vertritt Samira Efendi Aserbaidschan beim ESC 2021. Die Sängerin sagt über das Lied, dass es wichtig sei, über starke Frauen zu reden, da, obwohl die Welt voller Vorurteile sei, Frauen alles erreichen könnten und frauliche Stärke durch nichts vergleichbar sei. Einige Vertreter Aserbaidschans wurden über eine nationale Vorentscheidung ermittelt, wobei die Beiträge größtenteils intern ausgewählt wurden. Lediglich 2008 und 2013 wurden Interpret und Titel zusammen ermittelt. 2009 sowie seit 2015 verzichtet Aserbaidschan allerdings auf eine nationale Vorentscheidung und wählt seitdem sowohl Interpret als auch Lied intern aus. Trotzdem verwendete das Land in den Vorjahren verschiedene Formate um den Interpreten zu bestimmen. #eurovision #song #contest #2021 #azerbaijan #esc #national

    Der 65. Eurovision Song Contest soll im Zeitraum vom 18. bis zum 22. Mai 2021 in der Ahoy-Arena in der niederländischen Stadt Rotterdam stattfinden. Nachdem die Niederlande den Eurovision Song Contest 2019 gewinnen konnten und die Veranstaltung 2020 in Rotterdam wegen der COVID-19-Pandemie abgesagt wurde, soll der Eurovision Song Contest im Jahr 2021 nun dort stattfinden.
