Vasil Garvanliev (Cyrillic Васил Гарванлиев; born November 2, 1984 in Strumica, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, now North Macedonia) is a North Macedonian-Bulgarian singer. Vasil participated in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest as a background singer for Tamara Todevska. In 2020, after an internal selection, Vasil was nominated by the Macedonian Broadcasting Corporation (MRT for short) to represent Northern Macedonia at ESC 2020. Here I Stand is an English-language pop song written by Vasil Garvanliev and composed with Davor Jordanovski and Borce Kuzmanovski. According to him, this was done during a time marked by chaos and disappointments, when he gave free rein to his emotions.
