Vasil Garvanliev (Cyrillic Васил Гарванлиев; born November 2, 1984 in Strumica, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, now North Macedonia) is a North Macedonian-Bulgarian singer. Vasil participated in the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest as a background singer for Tamara Todevska. In 2020, after an internal selection, Vasil was nominated by the Macedonian Broadcasting Corporation (MRT for short) to represent Northern Macedonia at ESC 2020. Here I Stand is an English-language pop song written by Vasil Garvanliev and composed with Davor Jordanovski and Borce Kuzmanovski. According to him, this was done during a time marked by chaos and disappointments, when he gave free rein to his emotions. At the beginning of the track, the singer is accompanied only by piano and strings, which are played staccato at the end of the chorus.
