Hooverphonic is a Belgian trip-hop band that has been around since 1995. On October 1, 2019, they were selected by Flemish broadcaster VRT to represent Belgium at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. About the song "The Wrong Place"

The Wrong Place is an English pop song written by Alex Callier and Charlotte Foret. According to Callier, the song is about a one-night stand that went wrong. The title, he said, is typical of Hooverphonic in that it could serve as a soundtrack to a non-existent movie. Preselection

By rotation, the Walloon broadcaster Radio-télévision belge de la Communauté française (RTBF) would be responsible for selecting the performer in 2021. However, since the 2020 competition was canceled, RTBF and VRT agreed that VRT would also take over in 2021. RTBF will thus not be responsible for participation again until 2022. On March 20, 2020, VRT announced that Hooverphonic, who were already supposed to represent Belgium in 2020, would represent the country in the 2021 Song Contest. Eurovision Song Contest 2021

The 65th Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to take place at the Ahoy Arena in the Dutch city of Rotterdam between May 18 and 22, 2021. After the Netherlands won the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest and the 2020 event in Rotterdam was cancelled due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the Eurovision Song Contest is now scheduled to take place there in 2021.
