Destiny Chukunyere, also known as Destiny, M.Q.R. (born August 29, 2002 in Birkirkara, Malta) is a Maltese singer. She won the Junior ESC 2015 in Sofia with her song Not my Soul. She will represent Malta at the ESC 2021. At the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, she performed as an accompanist for Maltese singer Michela Pace and her song Chameleon. Je me casse (French meaning "I'm leaving") is a mostly English-language pop song which was interpreted by Destiny Chukunyere. The track is described as a pop song with influences from electro and gospel. The singer says of the track that it is a reminder that women are independent of others. They don't need a man to tell them what to do. Furthermore, Je me casse is about a woman who has a strong character and urges other women to believe in themselves. Until 2018, almost all entries to the ESC were chosen as part of a televised preliminary competition, usually held under the title Malta Song for Europe, in reference to the British preliminary, which was called Song for Europe for many years. The preliminary rounds were held partly with, partly without semi-final rounds. Only in 2016 Ira Losco's winning song was replaced by the internally selected song Walk on Water.
