Destiny Chukunyere, auch bekannt als Destiny, M.Q.R. (* 29. August 2002 in Birkirkara, Malta) ist eine maltesische Sängerin. Sie gewann den Junior ESC 2015 in Sofia mit ihrem Lied Not my Soul. Sie wird Malta beim ESC 2021 vertreten. Beim Eurovision Song Contest 2019 trat sie als Begleitsängerin für die maltesische Sängerin Michela Pace und deren Lied Chameleon auf. Über das Lied "Je me casse"

Je me casse (französisch sinngemäß „Ich haue ab“) ist ein größtenteils englischsprachiger Popsong, welcher von Destiny Chukunyere interpretiert wurde. Der Titel wird als Popsong mit Einflüssen aus Electro und Gospel beschrieben. Die Sängerin sagt über den Titel, er erinnere daran, dass Frauen unabhängig von anderen seien. Sie bräuchten keinen Mann, der ihnen sage, was zu tun sei. Weiterhin handele Je me casse von einer Frau, welche einen starken Charakter habe und andere Frauen dazu dränge, an sich selbst zu glauben. Außerdem sollten sich Frauen gegenseitig unterstützen. #esc #je #me #casse

Bis 2018 wurden fast alle Beiträge zum ESC im Rahmen einer im Fernsehen ausgestrahlten Vorausscheidung gewählt, die meist unter dem Titel Malta Song for Europe stattfand, in Anlehnung an den britischen Vorentscheid, der viele Jahre den Titel Song for Europe trug. Die Vorentscheidungen wurden teils mit, teils ohne Halbfinalrunden ausgetragen. Lediglich 2016 wurde Ira Loscos Siegerlied durch das intern ausgewählte Lied Walk on Water ersetzt. Seit 2019 wird der Interpret durch die Castingshow X Factor Malta gewählt, während das Lied intern ausgewählt wurde. #malta #esc #2021 #xfactor

    Der 65. Eurovision Song Contest soll im Zeitraum vom 18. bis zum 22. Mai 2021 in der Ahoy-Arena in der niederländischen Stadt Rotterdam stattfinden. Nachdem die Niederlande den Eurovision Song Contest 2019 gewinnen konnten und die Veranstaltung 2020 in Rotterdam wegen der COVID-19-Pandemie abgesagt wurde, soll der Eurovision Song Contest im Jahr 2021 nun dort stattfinden.
