Måneskin is an Italian rock band that became known in 2017 for their participation in the casting show X Factor. It won the 2021 Sanremo Festival. The four band members met in middle school and decided to join forces in 2016 to form the band Måneskin. At the end of 2020, Måneskin reported back with the song Vent'anni. At the 2021 Sanremo Festival, the band presented the song Zitti e buoni and managed to win. Zitti e buoni (Italian for "Quiet and well-behaved") is a song by the rock band Måneskin. The song was initially conceived as a ballad. For the new studio album it was rewritten to a harder rock song. Music and lyrics were written by the four band members, producer was Fabrizio Ferraguzzo. The lyrics of the song express the anger and rebellion of young generations against the lack of understanding and disrespect that adults show them. The 71st edition of the Festival della Canzone Italiana di Sanremo 2021 took place from March 2 to 6 at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo and was hosted by Amadeus. As usual, the winner of the Sanremo festival was given the opportunity to participate for Italy in the ESC 2021 in Rotterdam.
