Eurovision ist ein Song-Wettbewerb unter den Mitgliedsländern der European Broadcasting Union. Aus jedem der EBU-Mitgliedsländer, die sich um die Teilnahme beworben haben, nimmt ein Vertreter am Wettbewerb teil. Das Festival findet live statt. Jedes Land kann einen Vertreter (Solist oder Musikgruppe) stellen, der ein Lied von maximal drei Minuten Länge vorträgt. Während der Aufführung dürfen nicht mehr als sechs Künstler gleichzeitig auf der Bühne auftreten.

Måneskin is an Italian rock band that became known in 2017 for their participation in the casting show X Factor. It won the 2021 Sanremo Festival. The four band members met in middle school and decided to join forces in 2016 to form the band Måneskin. At the end of 2020, Måneskin reported back with the song Vent'anni. At the 2021 Sanremo Festival, the band presented the song Zitti e buoni and managed to win. With the song, the band is also to enter the race at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.

Die vier Bandmitglieder lernten sich in der Mittelschule kennen und beschlossen 2016, sich in der Band Måneskin zusammenzuschließen. Ende 2020 meldete sich Måneskin mit dem Lied Vent’anni zurück. Beim Sanremo-Festival 2021 präsentierte die Band das Lied Zitti e buoni und konnte damit den Sieg davontragen. Mit dem Lied soll die Band auch beim Eurovision Song Contest 2021 ins Rennen gehen.
