Jessica Alyssa Cerro is an Australian singer who performs under the stage name Montaigne. She should have represented Australia at the ESC 2020 in Rotterdam, which was cancelled in March 2020. Instead, she will represent her home country with the song Technicolour at ESC 2021. Cerro participated in Australian radio station Triple J's newcomer competition Triple J Unearthed in 2012 with the song Anyone But Me, where she managed to reach the final. About the song "Technicolour"

Technicolour is an English pop song written by Montaigne and David Hammer. With that title, Montaigne will represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam. She composed and wrote the lyrics for the song "Technicolour" together with David Hammer. He produced it and was also responsible for the mixing. The mastering was done by Leon Zervos. According to her own statement, the singer started composing the track after an emotional phone call with her mother. #montaigne #technicolour #esc #2021 #australia

On 09.02.19, Australia's first public audition, "Eurovision 2019: Australia Decides", took place. This was won by Kate Miller-Heidke with her song Zero Gravity. Montaigne won on 08.02.20, the second edition of the preliminary, "Eurovision 2020: Australia Decides". In early April 2020 was announced, that Montaigne will represent Australia in 2021, after the cancellation of ESC 2020. Australia is, along with Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom, one of the 3 countries that presented all their entries exclusively in english. #australia #esc #eurovision #song #21
